First of all, a Season 6 canonpoint for Lance sounds great! Go for it.
I'm really into that first idea, especially for the Lotor/Rapunzel ship, because it should make some really interesting changes in how things play out! Which leads me to a question I've been forgetting to ask: How did you see the relationship between them going, assuming you wanted to predetermine that at all? (Either way is fine with me, but if you had something in mind, like Lotor being redeemed or Rapunzel getting kind of corrupted or something else entirely, I definitely want to honor that!)
And then the Tangled-plot-with-a-Team-Voltron-twist idea for Rapunzel/Lance sounds so cute, not to mention amusing as heck. And lol, it's true, Lance is... Lance, but it's all great stuff! I think the idea of using an Earth-like planet is really clever, too.
And Gothel can totally be part of these things, in whatever capacity is needed. That's fine, lol, I forget to say!
As for direction, Iiiiii will admit I'd love to- to start at least -see Lotor get a redemption arc. I mean, I think we all knew what was coming in time but it still broke my heart. He also seems like the kind of guy that did mean well but just had some twisted ideas of how to achieve his goals. End result justifies the means, that sort of deal. It would be pretty interesting to see how he handled having an infinite source of pure quintessence right there within his reach, but not being able to act on it because he's still needing Allura's help to finish his ships. More than that, I think it'd be REALLY fascinating to see how he handled actually getting CLOSE to said source.
Like, with the alteans' he used he didn't know any of them personally, but we also see at the end of 6 that he wanted to spare Allura and the Paladins, had maybe come to consider them real allies and all that before Allura "forced" his hand. You know what I mean, though? He didn't have a personal connection to them so I don't think there was a real COST in his mind. It was like "crack a few eggs to make an omelette", but what if he had a personal investment in those eggs?
So the question is should we start those two up AT the rescue, or after it, and summarize how it went down?
Ahhh yes! I think that set up for Rapunzel and Lance will prove to be super super cute. I'm glad you like it!
Now I'm cracking up imagining Gothel reacting to Lance. Because you know she'd probably be rolling her eyes at him HARD and calling him dumb.
Yes, excellent! I couldn't agree more re: Lotor and a redemption arc, and I totally get what you mean about seeing how things play out with him becoming actually invested in one of his "tools".
Now, personally, I like the idea of a summary of the rescue and starting after the fact, but if you have another preference, that's totally fine!
Ahhh, YES GOOD. I'm hyped for this now. I have to run and do a shift for work but I'll only be an hour, then I'll be back in for a bit. Would you mind maybe starting us up, or would you like me to do it when I'm back?
I'm thinking maybe Rapunzel could be hanging out somewhere on the ship taking a break from exploring EVERYTHING. Observation deck, pool, or checking out that cool holo table, or the kitchen, or the hangar- uh.... maybe it'd be better if you pick. > >;; LOL
For the other one, do we wanna start with Lance coming to in the tower? LMAO
Ha, I can do my best to start something; sure thing! I'm not sure how deep it's going to be at the start, because I'm still doing my rewatch, BUT I'm really excited for this, and I'm happy to get the ball rolling!
God you just know that he's going to pop by her quarters one day and see that she's painted every inch of the space and it'll just be like HOW??? You've been here for two days!
Not to mention that with Lotor being so charming and cozying up with the Paladins- the obvious good guys here -she's going to be... so scathingly trusting. Oh God what is he even gonna do with that
ANYWAY, yes, absolutely I can! I'm also glad you had so much fun writing the starter. I know what you mean, I'm already looking forward to Lance's. HA HA HA HA this is gonna be great!
Aw, no worries, I tend to crash earlier than most, anyway!

Do you want me to start up the other side, with Lance coming to? I can bang out a starter real quick after I tag. :)
